Thank you to all who came out on a warm late winter night to the Kent Stage for our 19th Annual International Short Festival. We had an enthusiastic audience and had a great time celebrating video and filmmakers from around the world. Submissions from Sweden, Iran, Greece, Los Angeles, New York City, Baltimore, and Ravenna, Ohio, brought us all together for a few moments to revel in the collective, creative spirit of our little planet earth. Having said that, every entry was a winner just by being shown at the festival. Congratulations to all the visual artists who presented their work on Saturday night. You made for an exciting event on a spectacular evening in Kent.
We had the honor of watching a video of featured artist Donald Black Jr. describing his work. If you're unfamiliar with this amazing photographer and muralist based in Cleveland, Ohio, I encourage you to check out this short 16 minute video. He has an incredible story.
I applaud all the creative works submitted...but still...there were a few that stood out from the crowd. It gives me great to pleasure to announce the winners of The People's Choice and Juried Choice Awards.
