-WED AUG 26th 7pm - 9pm.
-SAT AUG 29th 11 -1 pm.

Performances: Fridays and Saturdays, November 13 - 28, 2026 at the Balch St. Theatre, Akron.

Rehearsals:  September 8th thru opening. Four days per week thru mid October, then six days per week.

Paid. Non union. $1000 per actor.

SYNOPSIS:

Tarot Cabaret brings the characters of the ancient tarot deck to life as a young man struggles against the forces of fate.

We’re looking for actors who can sing and singers who can act.

Be prepared to move and sing and show us what you got.

Three men and three women:

The FOOL -  a man in his 20’s-30’s. A battered soldier returning from war. Singing ability a plus.

The LOVER -  a woman in her 20’s-30’s. A dancer and singer in the cabaret. A lost soul.  Singing a plus.

FAITH DEVINE -  a woman in her 30’s - 40’s -  the main act of the Cabaret, she also plays the DEVIL and DEATH. Strong singing chops. Portuguese language a plus.

The MAGICIAN - a man in his 30’s - 40’s  - the MC of the Cabaret. A showman. Singing and magic skills a plus.

The MEDIUM -  a woman in her 40’s  - 60’s. She’s a spirit guide of lost souls, uses the tarot to guide reality in Tarot Cabaret. Singing ability a plus.

The EMPEROR -   a man in his 40’s - 60’s. Barkeep, handyman, and janitor, he looks out for everyone. Singing ability a plus.

Tarot Cabaret is a mystical musical art experience, produced by Hard Trash Theatre in collaboration with the Center for Applied Theater and Active Culture (CATAC) and Standing Rock Cultural Arts. With funding from the Akron Community Foundation, Ohio Arts Council, CATAC and other donors.
