ABOUT THE LESSONS:

The Lessons are offered primarily for students 8-18, but anyone who wishes to learn Basic Piano will be accepted.  John W Schaum Books for Learning will be used.

GOALS:  Students will Learn

-How a Piano Works

-Basic Music Theory (Scales, Circle 4ths and 5ths, Composition)

-How to Read and Write Music

-Touch Dynamics (Use of Pedals, Use of Left and Right Hands)

-Music History from J.S. Bach to Present

MATERIALS:

Beginner Lesson Materials provided

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR, NATHAN SMITH:

  Nathan Smith is a seasoned musician and educator with over 20 years of experience. His musical journey began at the age of eight when he first discovered his love for the piano. His passion for music quickly expanded beyond the keys as he eagerly learned to play every instrument he could get his hands on. Throughout his school years, Nathan actively participated in every available music program and further honed his skills by attending a secondary private music school alongside his regular education.

    Beyond his formal training, Nathan has accumulated extensive hands-on experience in the field. In 2020, he channeled his expertise into teaching, offering piano lessons that quickly grew into a thriving business. His passion for music education continues to inspire the next generation of pianists, fostering both technical excellence and a deep love for the instrument.

    Nathan currently resides in Kent, OH, with his spouse, three children, two dogs, and a cat.
