"The Authority" (What Happens When You Don't Follow
The Rules)
PLOT:
Fast forward to fifty years in the future. No one is allowed to question the
past. Children are not allowed to answer telephones. Clara's mother is "disappeared" by
the Authority. Clara must assemble a crew of adventurous friends to help find
her mother. The search leads to a cavernous laboratory under the Eiffel Tower.
The Authority is hard at work trying to develop Tritonium which will give them
supernatural powers and make them invincible!!! Tritonium is three times more
powerful than plutonium.
Unknown to The Authority, A Rebel Group led by Tai Lung (aka The Green Ninja),
is meeting in The Catacombs of Paris to overthrow The Authority. Can Clara and
The Rebels rescue Mother from The Jellyfish Death Trap in time? Or will BOB,
the Authority Leader and his pack of Hungry Dogs capture Clara and her friends
before they have a chance to interrupt his plans?
Answers await in the African Community Theatre, May 18-20.
ABOUT THE NEW WORLD CHILDREN”S THEATRE
The New World Children’s Theater began as The New World Puppet Theater
at the North Water Street Gallery in Kent, Ohio, in January of 1993. Originally,
it was comprised of home-school children. Throughout the years , however, it
has grown to include public-schooled children as well. Eventually, the troupe
outgrew the puppets and the ensemble became The New World Children’s Theater,
which has produced 26 plays since 1994. In addition to the emphasis on original
playwriting, the company is dedicated to using recycled materials in the construction
of its sets and props. This fosters an understanding of a sustainable planet
as well as an understanding of how to work with limited resources. The only requirement
is an active imagination.
The New World Children’s Theatre is always looking for donations to support
students from low income families as well as our our ongoing activities. Donations
are tax deductible and can be made to Standing Rock Cultural Arts, 257 N. Water
St., Kent, Ohio 44240.
Thank you for supporting the kids.
