HERE for 2012 Film Festival Propectus RESULTS Congratulations to Kate VanDevender for winning the People's Choice Award for her hilarious "Actor's Diaries" short film series! Kate brought down the house with her sly parody of a young blonde actress trying to get a break in Hollywood. We hope to be able to show more of her work in the future, although it may be difficult because she's recently been picked up by a few networks with exclusive rights.
Congratulations also to Miles Kalbach and Anthony Serge for the dark comedy, "Sonny Mails A Letter", which won the Juried Choice for this year's festival. It was an exceptionally difficult competition this year due to the number of outstanding films. The audience had a sound and visual feast from which to choose, from the scorching deserts of northern Mexico to the surrealistic landscape of post-apocalyptic, Tim Burtonesque suburbia, the festival spanned the globe and beyond.
A special thank you to Hal Walker and Paul Falstad for performing Live Music. Thanks also to Mike Hovancsek for directing the festival and volunteering so much time and talent. And finally, thanks to our audience for such a great turnout and enthusiastic response. We hope everyone brings a friend next year and we have to hold the festival on two nights instead of one.
