Jim Vandenboom: BFA Cleveland Institute of Art. MFA in Sculpture from
Kent State University. Jim's Project: From the Tree was created to
provide a venue and spotlight for the creative efforts for Kent
elementary school students, local poets, and two outstanding
organizations that are teaching our children the benefits of creative
thinking. Standing Rock Cultural Arts and WICK Poetry Outreach Program
of Kent State University: http://dept.kent.edu/wick. The students have
been asked to consider their relationship and interdependence with
trees; physically, emotionally and metaphorically. Each participating
student will receive a professionally mounted print of their poem and a
commemorative chapbook with all 20 poems.
